Your Quick Start Guide to Doing Yoga at Home
Doing yoga at home is an important part of your practice, especially if you can’t get to the studio. If you’re used to taking group classes, find out how different it feels to do the same poses on your own.
Valentine’s at PS
I know some of y’all are out there trying to figure out a Valentine’s gift and quick. Here are some special last minute offers we have available right now!
Introducing Therapeutic Yoga
From studio style to personal style, everyone’s yoga is a little bit different. Here in North Texas, there are plenty of spaces to practice a yoga that matches your personal style. We know that we aren’t for everyone (and we are totally ok with it)!
Are You About to Lose Your Sh*t?
COVID-19 is wrecking havoc on our wallets, jobs and psyche. It has had us locked down for too long with fear in our hearts and minds. It is completely normal and 1000% human to be on edge at this time. If you are used to being at work or having the kids (and spouse) gone during the day, you must be craving alone time. Just the opportunity to check out of responsibility for a little while.
The Chakras
In yoga, reiki, and ayurveda, you often hear mention of the 7 chakras. In western medicine you don’t hear about the chakras very much, so what are they?
Y’all Need to Relax!
Raise your hand (or quietly nod) if you are feeling any of these things right now?STRESS. PRESSURE. FEAR. ANXIETY. SELF DOUBT. DEPRESSION. STRAIN. EXHAUSTION.
Now that we all look a little silly with our hands raised way up in the air while nodding quietly but fervently at our phones… know that YOU are not alone.
Essential Oil Spotlight: Eucalyptus
As we come into our spring months with mold in the air from the rain and plants beginning to bud, so many North Texans are getting hit with allergies. What if you could find an essential oil that not only helps you breathe, but also aids with headaches, viral infections, cough, muscle pain and inflammation?
Bathe Away Your Stress
My favorite way to combat the stress or anxiety is to make a warm, calming, and gently detoxifying bath – paired with a hot cup of tea or a glass of wine.
WHICH IS BETTER: CBD OIL OR ESSENTIAL OILS?
Occasionally we get asked some form of this comparison question, “which is better... X Essential Oil or CBD Oil?” or “is copaiba oil really better than CBD?” As with most topics in wellness, it can be difficult to separate the science from the marketing hype, so let's break it down for you here by starting with a little pertinent scientific information on the endocannabinoid system, essential oils, and CBD oil.
Pose Breakdown: Plank
Do you have a love/hate relationship with plank? Many students find they are totally OVER it when they are in the midst of plank but feel super strong once they are done. Sometimes it can be challenging to find that sweet spot in plank where you are comfortably uncomfortable. Let’s take a look on how you can get the most out of plank and make it accessible no matter your ability.
Accessible Yoga
“Accessible” has become a buzzword in the Yoga community recently. I’m pleased more awareness is being brought to the need to make Yoga something anyone can do, but what exactly does accessible mean? As with any popular word, it can mean myriad things.
Yoga Etiquette 101
While I don’t necessarily think yoga has “rules”, I do feel that there should be a certain level of respect to the studio space, it’s teachers and fellow yogis just like you. This will allow everyone to maintain their own practice in a room filled with different types of people. Maybe you enjoy a quiet, deeply relaxing class or would you’d rather a base thumping, fast flow? Either way in a room of many people and many goals, the following points will help to make everyone have a better experience on (and off) the mat:

Mala Beads for Meditation
Malas are not just stylish and trendy jewelry, they are tools that we can use in our meditation practice daily. Logan Milliken, who creates malas for Silver and Sage jewelry states that malas “offer people a wearable reflection of something in their own journey, so in that way the mala really becomes whatever the wearer intends for it,”
Dealing with a Stuffy Nose in Yoga
We are currently in the heart of winter season and for most of us stuffy noses are common during this time of year. In yoga, we use the breath as a tool to calm the nervous system and to focus on the present moment. From my personal experience I know that it can be hard to practice yoga without being able to breathe normally, so here are a few alternative remedies to help you clear your nasal passages and feel better during your practice!
Planning for a Productive New Year
It may be cheesy, but I get almost too excited for the New Year. It’s like Christmas again, but for the future of the next 365 days.
Pose Breakdown: Wheel
Wheel pose looks pretty cool right? I have memories of childhood tumbling when I see and practice wheel.
