Stretch Before You Scrub (or Rake!)
Spring cleaning and yard work can be surprisingly strenuous. From scrubbing floors to lifting bags of mulch, these activities engage muscles in ways we don’t always expect. Just like you would before a workout, take a few minutes to warm up with gentle stretches before getting started.
Try these simple movements:
Neck & Shoulder Rolls – Loosen up tension from looking down at clutter or pruning plants.
Torso Twists – Gently rotate side to side to prepare your spine for bending and reaching.
Hamstring & Hip Stretches – Help prevent strain when squatting, lifting, or reaching into deep cabinets.
Posture & Proper Lifting Techniques

Bend at your knees, not your back. When picking up boxes or yard waste, squat down and engage your legs to lift rather than relying on your back.

Spring Energy Reset: Cleanse Your Space with Sage
Just as physical dust and clutter build up in our homes, so does stagnant energy. A simple way to refresh the energy of your space is by burning sage, also known as smudging. This ancient practice helps clear out negative energy and invites a sense of peace and renewal.
How to Sage Your Home:
Set Your Intention – Before you begin, take a moment to focus on what you want to release (stress, negativity, stagnant energy) and what you want to invite in (clarity, peace, abundance).
Open Windows & Doors – This allows old energy to exit as you move through your space.
Light the Sage – Using a match or lighter, ignite the sage bundle and let it burn for a few seconds before gently blowing out the flame, allowing it to smolder and release smoke.
Walk Through Your Home – Slowly move through each room, allowing the smoke to reach corners, doorways, and windows. As you do this, repeat a mantra, prayer, or affirmation that resonates with you.
Extinguish Safely – Once finished, press the smoldering end into a fireproof dish or sand to ensure it's fully out.
